CONCORD, N.C. – Fireworks will take place on and off the track this Tuesday as the 22nd annual Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series season comes to an end. The final rounds of racing action will take place at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Monday and Tuesday, July 27 and 28. Fans will have the opportunity to see two nights of action-packed U.S. Legend Car and Bandolero racing as the drivers battle on the frontstretch quarter-mile for the final time this season. The Bojangles’ Summer Shootout Series will conclude with a spectacular fireworks extravaganza following Tuesday night’s activities.
Myers versus Ferguson
A special “pavement vs. dirt” match race will take place Tuesday night between Bowman Gray Stadium modified star Burt Myers and World of Outlaws Late Model standout Chris Ferguson. Both drivers will be competing in Legend Cars and will race head-to-head to the checkered flag.
“I love racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway and I have a lot of luck here,” said Myers. He added, “I think it will be fun to compete against a dirt racer. I grew up being taught that dirt was for farming and asphalt was for racing.”
Chris Ferguson is excited to bring his talent off dirt and onto asphalt. “I love racing at Charlotte on The Dirt Track and now being able to race on pavement will be fun,” Ferguson said.
“I’ve seen Burt race at the Madhouse and I am looking forward to showing all the fans the madness we can have in these Legend Cars,” Ferguson added.

Point titles on the line

Tight points battles are spread throughout the Legend Car and Bandolero racing divisions. In The Body Mechanics Human Tuning Group Legend Car Pro division, only seven points separate leader Michael Torres from second-place Jared Irvan.
