Record attendance for Kannapolis Intimidators
The Kannapolis Intimidators set a new 3-day franchise attendance record over the weekend by welcoming 12,018 fans to CMC-NorthEast Stadium on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.  The Intimidators – now playing the 21st season of baseball in Kannapolis – drew 3,976 on Friday followed by 4,038 on Saturday and 4,006 on Sunday to reach the new milestone.
The weekend featured popular promotions such as Jurassic Ballpark on Friday with Dakota and Friends, postgame fireworks on Saturday presented by Cabarrus Eye Center, and a princess party with Elsa, Anna, and Olaf on Kid’s Day Sunday presented by Cornerstone Church.  The Intimidators also welcomed thousands of students from area school districts to the ballpark to be recognized as part of the team’s second annual Reading All-Stars Celebration, which honors students from kindergarten through eighth grade for their achievements in literacy.
Both the Friday and Sunday games set franchise attendance records for the respective days of the week, excluding Independence Day fireworks shows.  Earlier this season, the Intimidators drew a season-high 4,550 to the annual Education Day presented by CMC-NorthEast on Wednesday, April 22, the largest Education Day crowd since 2011.  The Intimidators have averaged 2,858 fans in 10 openings so far this season.
The team wraps up the current home stand on Monday with Belly Buster Monday presented by Buffalo Wild Wings, featuring all-you-can-eat for only $10 (some exclusions apply) before opening a 7-game road trip to West Virginia and Lexington. The Intimidators return home for a 4-game series in Kannapolis May 14-17 against the Lakewood BlueClaws.  Tickets are available by calling the F&M Bank Box Office at (704) 932-3267.
